Flex Clinical Decision Support
Clinical Decision Support is embedded in templates and available at the time of order entry to help providers make the right decision, prevent duplicates and inappropriate tests or medication orders.
HARRIS Flex provides many levels of Clinical Decision Support to its users.
First, real-time alerts / warnings, reminders and guidelines embedded in clinical processes promote expert clinical decision support which greatly reduce patient care costs and improve patient outcomes by giving physicians tools to enhance the quality of their care decisions. A rules engine constantly monitors patients against best practice providing automatic case management (i.e. automatic situational interventions). Whenever the criterion in a rule is met, the System takes appropriate action such as initiating additional orders or notification of the appropriate caregiver.
Second, on-line clinical guidelines integrate with patient diagnosis / problem functionality to optimize disease management processes by reducing clinical variation and tracking outcomes. Availability of medical reference information at the point-of-decision saves clinicians’ valuable time. HARRIS Flex is a “point-of-decision” system that enhances clinical decision making by the application of medical knowledge to patient data delivered to providers interactively as they deliver care.
Third, HARRIS Flex is fully integrated with a Drug Knowledge reference software Medi-Span Clinical from Wolters Kluwer which provides powerful surveillance and guidance to the ordering provider
