DR ROBERT KEITH TO RETIRE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF K2 MEDICAL SYSTEMS
PRESS RELEASE
29th October 2021, Plymouth: Dr Robert Keith, co-founder of K2 Medical Systems (K2), will be retiring from his position as Managing Director at the end of December 2021 to be succeeded by fellow Harris Executive Vice President, Mark Hawtin.
K2, a multi-award winning innovation and technology company, dedicated to improving maternity care, was established in 1999. Since inception, K2 has seen fantastic growth, and continues today to provide an ever-increasing and comprehensive portfolio of innovative and pioneering solutions to support clinicians, improve care, and reduce poor birth outcomes.
K2 was acquired by Harris, an Ottawa-based vertical market software provider and acquirer, in late-2020. Following the acquisition, Dr Robert Keith has worked hard to ensure the smooth transition into Harris and will now be retiring from his position as Managing Director in order to spend more time with his family.
Mark Hawtin is currently the Managing Director for Genial, a UK-based market-leading quality and information management software business with a focus on healthcare and life sciences, which also sits under the healthcare portfolio within Harris. An executive with commercial leadership skills developed over 30 years in B2B SaaS technology, Mark brings experience of developing business in many diverse markets through both direct and indirect channels.
Speaking of the upcoming changes, Dr Robert Keith commented:
“It is with both sadness and pride that I am retiring as Managing Director of K2. It has been a pleasure to grow such a fantastic business and work with a wonderful team. I know that K2 is in great hands with Mark coming on board, and I look forward to seeing the business continue to grow.”
Mark Hawtin also commented:
“I am honoured to be taking up a leadership position at K2 and look forward to working closely with a dedicated, passionate and talented team to continue the wonderful work Robert has been leading. It is with a heavy heart that I step away from Genial as Managing Director but I am confident that the business is very well-positioned to thrive and grow its presence within the life sciences and healthcare industry.”
Mark Hawtin will be officially taking over as Managing Director for K2 in January 2022 following a transitionary period working alongside Robert from now to the end of the year.
